"This pearl has become my soul... If I give it up, I shall lose my soul"

(Quote from John Steinbeck's The Pearl)
I totally meant to do this blog post like two or three weeks ago when I got this present from my aunt who lives in the Philippines that I met for the first time in Seattle...but better late than never right?

Growing up I never had the chance to meet any of my relatives because we moved from the Philippines to America when I was only 5 months old. Over the years we always got little packages from them giving us presents like Filipino pastries, t-shirts, and jewelry. Finally getting a present in person felt really nice...I'm not sure why but it was really special to me. One of my aunts gave me a pair of earrings, real pearl earrings and a real pearl necklace...with the pearl still in the clam!
When opening the clam you're supposed to make a wish. There are 5 possible colors that you can get from your pearl. White = Health. Cream = Happiness. Peach = Love. Lavender = Wisdom. Gold = Health. I was blessed with the cream pearl :) Ever since I opened it and put it in the necklace I haven't wanted to take it off. It's become my lucky charm. There has yet to be a day where I haven't worn it around my neck!
Big thanks to my aunt! I love this necklace so much!
And have a great day everyone! I'm directing a photo shoot tonight and photos will be up tomorrow!
