Perfect Polaroid Night

I had my photo shoot yesterday! And it went extremely perfect! Besides coming back with scratches and bug bites everywhere the shoot went really well! I love running around the woods and doing random things :)

I'm in the editing process of my photos and I have yet to go to bed so I may sound a bit strange today due to the lack of sleep haha :P I'm so excited to share with you guys the finished products but till then here's a little sneak peek of the shoot! You can't really see the second photo on the screen but it looks perfectly fine in person...if you tilt your screen a certain way you can see her face better :P

And here's a sneak peek of one of the photos I have somewhat finished! One thing very difficult about editing is that you can go so many different directions! So I have two different types of this one photo and I'm not sure which one to go with so hopefully you guys can help :D

After the photo shoot my friends and I had a little party together! Being the weird person I am I thought it would be fun to bring along my fun new Polaroid :) Best decision I've made in a while! These photos turned out perfect! Nights like these make me love my friends even more! I'm so glad I brought my camera with me! There's something about these photos that are magical...it's like it captured that moment perfectly...the moment can never happen again but it will live forever on that photo...that's what I love about photography :)

 So I hope everyone has an amazing Saturday! I'm going off into my little editing world again! Who knows when I'll be back haha just kidding I'll see you guys tomorrow :)

Hello...I'm Princess Jasmine

haha just kidding I wish I was! I was planning originally to not to do a post today because I'm getting ready for my photo/video shoot today but I decided against it because I'm a bit addicted to blogging :)

I was happy to see that you guys were excited to see the shirt I'm making and when I posted the pictures on Instagram (@sharrysongbird) I got a really good response also. My brother and I went to Goodwill on Wednesday and I found this long sleeved shirt with a really cute pattern on it that was a bit too big on me that I thought would make for a really good project! It took about an hour to do which is really quick and I really like the outcome! Do you guys like it? I'll being wearing it today so maybe you'll see a few pics of me in it tomorrow :)

And here's a few pics of the things I did today! I went to the new Forever21 here and I love it so much more than the old one we used to have! This one's much bigger so instead of just having one of the styles F21 has it has all of them which means the ones I actually like :) And it's much more organized! My friend and I then went to the Disney store and saw our Princess-selves! I'm Princess Jasmine and she's Princess Rapunzel...we're not embarrassing at all haha...we couldn't resist taking photos with the dolls! I may be 16 but I still love going to the Disney store :)

Then, another friend of mine and I went to watch CYT (Christian Youth Theatre)'s production of Aladdin! Ironic? I think so haha :) My friend played the Genie and it was so great to watch how many kids love and are growing up in theatre and it's even better because it's part of a Christian organization! P.S. our faces are crazy in these photos because we're theatre people...nuff said :)

So...that was my day! Pretty busy and fun! Just how summer should be right?

D.I.Y. T-Shirts to Summer Tops

As promised, the D.I.Y. to turn regular old t-shirts into cute fun summer tops :)

Tank Top:

 Make sure you iron your shirts to take away any creases. Measure three fingers in the middle of the shoulder section and mark it. Follow the seam of the sleeve and measure 3-5 inches down depending on how low you want the sleeves to be and mark it. Cut to connect the marks as smooth as possible. To make the bottom loose and curl up, cut the bottom and stretch the fabric out a bit.

This part is optional but if you want you can use extra fabric the tie the back to sleeves together to make a cute razor-back type effect :)

Fringe Top:

Do the same thing as the tank top but this time don't tie the back! Then, with a piece of tape mark across the shirt where you want your fringe to go up to. Once that's done cut away! The size of the strips really depend on you but nothing more than 3/4ths of an inch :)

Bandeau Top:

This one is going to be a struggle to explain but I'll try my best :)

Cut the shirt across the chest area and leave in the seams (don't just cut the front). Afterwards, cut another piece of fabric that's about 3/4ths the length of the chest piece to use as the back. Then along the sides of those fabric pieces cut six holes.

Using the extra fabric cut out a two strips and then stretch them out. Lace the strings through the six holes starting from the top to the bottom like shoe laces. Tie a knot on the bottom and you can either keep the strings dangling down or cut them off and TA DA! You are done!

So, it was majorly muddy but I struggled through it...kinda haha :) If you want me to re-do any I'd be happy to do it again sometime in more detail and pictures that might make more sense for you guys! Hope you guys have fun making these!

When Life Gives You Lemons...

Make lemonade!!! 

Which is exactly what my friend and I did yesterday! I find freshly squeezed lemonade to be a lot better than store bought lemonade. Maybe it's the lack of all those preservatives or maybe it's a rewarding feeling afterwards knowing that you made something this tasty and refreshing haha either way it's summer and I've decided to share with you guys how to make homemade lemonade (even though a lot of you may already know how haha) oh well...here we go! :)

What you need:

2 lemons ,1 knife, 1 cup of sugar, 1 bowl and1 shot glass (or an actual squeezer), 1 pitcher

Put a cup of sugar in the pitcher!

Since I don't own a lemon squeezer my brother was clever enough to use a shot glass and bowl to squeeze the lemon instead! Resourceful right? :D Anyways, cut the lemons in half and squeeze them out! 

(p.s. that's my friend squeezing the lemon)

Put the lemon juice into the pitcher and mix the two together!

Add water into the pitcher and mix it. Cut the left over lemon skin from 1 lemon into little slices and put it in the pitcher with the lemonade...not sure if it actually has any effect but my brother did it when we first made lemonade and I thought it looked really cool so I also do it now haha :)

Now reward yourself with a nice glass of cold refreshing lemonade :) Easy enough right? And it's super tasty

I've never eaten so much cheese in one day haha and I've never had such a productive day over the summer before! It's really nice to do something other than sit in front of the t.v. and watch mindless television. She and I are planning on making a lot of D.I.Y. clothes so get ready to learn how to do a lot of stuff haha :)

Weekend Adventures

Hey everyone! After being away from the computer for the weekend it's nice to catch up on the blogs and t.v. shows and chill with my puppy :) I had a super fun and busy weekend!

Friday:
My Polaroid camera came in the mail! I'm super excited to take photos with it and show you guys! As you all know I'm obsessed with film cameras so this one being instant is making me even more excited! The problem is that film can be very expensive. If you guys know anywhere that sells Polaroid 600 compatible film that's affordable I'd love to know :D

Saturday:
It was my dad's 49th birthday! Or as he likes to say the 24th anniversary of his 25th birthday haha :) We went to Joe's Crab shack which is lucky for me cuz then I'm not limited in my choice of food which happens when your in a family who eats a lot of meat haha! Also, lately every restaurant I go to I end up getting some sort of food that looks like a heart!

Sunday:
I spent the night at a friends house and we ordered pizza! It's become our tradition now to take a photo with the pizza guy every time we order a pizza! This is #2! Then during the day we went to go watch movies. We saw the Avengers, which I loved (nerd status!) and then Dark Shadows, which I didn't really like which is super weird because this is the first Tim Burton movie that I didn't like...it was just really strange...

So that's a quick synopsis of my weekend :) Was your guys' fun?

New Room Wishlist

With my room all done and painted I've been exploring the internet for all different things I can make to decorate my room rather than buying them. I also think it would be more fun to make them...yay for D.I.Y. projects! :D
